Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team in our baby room. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in caring for children under 2, and play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and education to children in a nurturing environment. This position requires a strong commitment to early childhood education, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage and lead activities that promote children’s development.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children aged 0-5 years.
- Plan and implement engaging educational activities that support the developmental needs of each child.
- Observe and assess children’s progress, through professional judgement.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare and education.
- Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in childcare and early learning.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play activities, ensuring all children are cared for appropriately.
- Drive initiatives that promote children’s well-being and social skills within the nursery setting.
Skills
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Leadership abilities to guide and inspire both children and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a calm demeanour.
- A genuine passion for childcare and the development of young children.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous but not essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.30-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
